Kellogg loves Cool Whip - check out my beak!
Hi Dad,
Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate my new home and the fact
that you wanted me so much.  You've probably noticed that I really prefer
to be with you but I will be nice to Jan and even whistle at her when she
least expects it.  Have you ever thought of getting rid of those dogs?
Their habits are annoying and somewhat frightening.  I enjoy the little
birds especially when I fly over to their cage and they get excited.  Now
Bo is another story-does he really have to be so loud?  Maybe because he's
just a toddler-sure is demanding of your attention.
When do you think you'll get me on the internet?
I like watching you on the computer-you have some very funny email.
Love,
Kellogg
November 5, 1999

Here I am on Dad's shoulder while we are working on the computer.  My little sister Bo does this first thing in the morning and then it is my turn.  We both spend about 45 minutes here.  I am fluffing up a storm and the old man won't even scratch my head. He will pay attention if I bite his specs though!

I guess I really have to get on his hand.  I was pretty happy up there on top.  Wonder where we are going now.  I have figured out how to open my food dish, but there is no way out!  I am starting to fluff and hiss when Mom and Dad come - they get to see my top notch.  At the ripe old age of 13, it is hard to get used to these guys.  Man, they think Bo has a beak, wait till they see me in action.

I am learning  the Step up command.  I am doing very well now.  I get to sit on my stand with mom and dad when they are home.  They often give me a lot of attention and do I fluff for them.

Mom was wondering about my posing for some commercials.  What do you think.  Dad does not let me drink things that have caffeine, but I sure love the cans.

Well, today, 2/5/2000, I am going to my vet to get my wings clipped and toenails trimmed.  I will be sure to give my Dad a great experience getting me into my travel cage.  The last time I was in there, I hissed my head off.

By the way, I am sitting on my stand with mom and dad near by.  I really like that.  We have a lot of fun.  I like to fly and land on mom or dad's shoulders to see what they are doing.   Will tell you more later.

January 2000

Well, Mom and Dad found out from the vet that I really am a guy.  Anyway, I got a letter from Pepsi and they said I was a beautiful bird.  They sent me some toys and some stuff for my Mom and Dad.  Mom and Dad sure act like they are proud of me!

I have really begun to improve my behavior.  I get to go all over the place with my parents.  I hated the vet trip.  They held me down and clipped my wings, ground down my toe nails and to end all dignity, ground my beak down.  Mom and dad were not there, so I tried to bite my doc, but he was faster than I.  Then I let them have it with a loud screech.  That did not help either.  I am fine now, but am glad to be home.  My dignity has returned and I still crow, show my orange crest and prance around in the evenings as I call my flock to me.  Bet you wonder who my flock is:

Dad, Mom, Botor Motor, Ying, Misty Bear, and Tang.

Another update on 9/12/00

Here I am again.  Now I have really changed.  My parents and I have learned a lot about each other.

I rarely bite them now and they are so loving.  I get to go to the shower every morning and sit on a special perch that they set up for me.  What a grand experience.  I help Dad in the mornings in the computer room as he does his some of his computer work.

He is trying to teach me how to say "Go Broncos", but I just whistle and say "hello" and he smiles and that is all that counts.  I have learned to call the dogs with my whistling.  It is so funny to see them come running when I call them.  In the morning, Mom puts dry pasta in my stand dish and I get it out with my claw and drop it on the floor.  The dogs come and eat it!  Can you imagine that?

I figured out that dogs will eat anything. :o)

That's all for now, but will have more later.

Squawks and kisses,

Kellogg or as I am now know as "logster"

Thanks for coming by and reading my story.
